Ack!
It's been a while since I last posted, hasn't it?
I've been a bit busy. This weekend I bought "Tropico", so most of my free time has been absorbed in playing that. It's a sim in which you play the dictator of a small Caribbean island. You have to keep the masses happy or they'll revolt. If rabble-rousers are giving you trouble, you can bribe them or 'take care of them'. Very, very fun, and terribly addictive.
I saw "Troy" last Thursday. It was not as good as I had expected. If you want a fun movie with lots of blood and gore and a stupid plot about dying for true love and other ridiculous nonsense like that, go see "Troy". If you're looking for something that follows the plotline of "The Illiad" to any degree of exactitude, well... I'm sure there's another video adaptation out there somewhere. And I had to laugh every time Achilles or another character would leap into battle, because I know that ancient Greek men most definitely didn't wear any undergarments under their clothing.
Started work today. I know already this research assistantship will be great. I'm getting paid to read! Much, much more interesting than my previous jobs in fast food and secretarial work. I get to sit down in a comfy chair and read cool books about the history of the English language, and the University's actually giving me money for it!
